July 2007 What does this privacy policy cover? This Privacy Policy covers the Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women Newfoundland and Labrador (PACSW) treatment of personally identifiable information that we collect when you are on our website and/or a member of our listserv. Information Collection and Use Listserv: PACSW collects personally identifiable information when you register as a subscriber to our listserv. When you subscribe to our listserv, we ask for your name and email address. Once you complete your subscription, you are not anonymous to us. Website: When you visit the PACSW website, it also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address and the page you requested. PACSW uses this information for three general purposes: to assist in the development of the web site, to fulfill your requests for information and to contact you when you request it.
PACSW will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone. We keep personal information confidential unless we are required to disclose it by law. We use it for the purposes of contacting you and better understand who is using the site and how to continuously improve it. We will not sell, distribute, barter or transfer any personal identifiable information obtained through this site to a third party. PACSW employs reasonable safeguards in order to protect information held by us against interception or misuse of information by third parties. We do not have any responsibility for interception, alteration or misuse of information transmitted over the Internet. PACSW may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when: - We have your consent to share the information; - We need to share your information to provide the information you have requested; or - We are requested to provide this information because we respond to subpoenas, court orders and legal processes.
